Holiday Treat Mini Pizza Box

Hello!

Sorry I haven't posted in a few days - I'm finally over the hump of busy days for December.  Now I just have my own Christmas cards to make, holiday baking, gift wrapping - and my favorite - visiting and traveling to see my family.  I have several posts for you this week.  This is a really easy project to make and is so cute.  I can't wait to create it for Valentine's Day as well!

Holiday Card with Chunky Glitter!

Okay stampers - I know you'll be very sad - but this is my LAST post for holiday card samples!  However - you'll still have access to the holiday card photo album from the Christmas cards I receive from you for the contest!  That album will post closer to Christmas and I'll announce the winner!

But you'll be glad to know I'll still have a few holiday projects to share - and then onto Valentine's Day!  If the major retail stores can stock for Valentine's Day now - why not me?!!!

This card was turned out so pretty, I think!  I think one of my new favorite sets this year had to be To You & Yours...I've used it so much!  It's hard to tell but this is real red and baja breeze.  I also used the ski slope DSP's.  AND of course - the Big Shot with the snowflake sizzlits.  Then the final touch - the chunky white glitter for snow/ice under the home!  Look close - you can see it!

We made this card at the fall retreat as part of one of the card classes.  Lots of layers too!

Square Scallop Template Masking

Hi Everyone!

Just wanted to share another quick Christmas card with you.  This card was created in my stamping card technique clubs in November. It is a very easy card and looks very nice when completed.

To create the large scallop square  - you need to use your square scallop punch and punch out four scallops.  As you punch the square scallops - you will overlap one row each time.  My square is measured two scallops x two scallops.  I know it is hard w/out a visual...I'm working on being able to add those.  If you want a more detailed explanation - please do not hesitate to contact me.

You then use the template (that you'd normally throw away) as a mask and sponge your ink inside the template.  Make sure to get around the scalloped edges really well so you can see the design with the sponged ink.  On this card - it made a really nice sky for our dove flying by!  I added a tailored bow and a little detail with some brads.

These templates can be made larger by doing a three scallop x three scallop template or larger.

Christmas Ornament Paper Globe

I'm so glad that Stampin' Up! offered Christmas ornament kits this year!  I spent so much time last year trying to make one of these paper globe ornaments and just couldn't figure it out.  Then the Star Bright Ornament Kit on page 15 of the Holiday Mini Book made it so easy! 

For $19.95 you can create beautiful, unique ornaments and embellishments in varying shapes and sizes.  This kit contains twelve 12" x 12" doublesided die-cut Designer Series paper sheets - enough components to make 54 stars, 6 paper-strip globes, and 5 to 25 paper-circle globes (depending on the size).  The kit also contains silver brads and silver elastic cords.  These ornaments use a DSP in Baja Breeze, Riding Hood Red, and Old Olive colors that is already die cut and scored.

Here are three more scrapbook pages from the calendar class - July/August/September.

Not your typical July page...Mandy & I usually design a 4th of July page - but something different is good.  I really do like the Muirfield DSP's and the colors!  Who couldn't use a swimming page, right?!

August

And yet another patterned paper that I love!  Mandy chose Haiku for this month and a great summer design.  This page will work for all different summer events.

September

OH and what demonstrator can resist completely copying a great page from another awesome demonstrator!  I loved this page and just had to re-create it for the calendar class.  Thank you to Kimberly VanDiepen for her awesome design.  This page is completed almost 100% with the Big Shot and a few dies.  We used the Leaves #2 Bigz die, the Serif Alphabet dies, and the scallop die.  Add some Hawaii Papaya DSP and there you have it.

Few More Holiday Cards!

Okay - I know some of you haven't started your holiday cards...and you still have plenty of time.  And NO - I haven't started mine either - but I am under strict instructions this year that my cards WILL make it to the post office!  It is always something every year that keeps me from getting started or finishing and this year I am determined will be different. 

The next few weeks will be filled with shopping, stamping clubs/classes, lots of baking, making my Christmas cards, wrapping, school Christmas programs, and one of my FAVORITE afternoons of the year - MY DOWNLINE'S HOLIDAY PARTY!  We have so much fun!  We exchange card swaps, we EAT their favorite Baked Potato Soup every year and other snacks, we have make & take projects, we each create a $10 craft gift that we exchange playing the "rob your neighbor" or "dirty santa" game, and this year I've added a cookie exchange.  So a fun filled afternoon - can't wait to see you girls!  Let me know if you'd like to join my team and have fun too!

Here are a few more holiday cards for you.  This one is made with a stamping technique called Embossing resist .

 

Supplies

• Stamp Sets:  Snow Swirled
• Cardstock:  Riding Hood Red, Chocolate Chip, Whisper White, Glossy White
• Ink Pads:  Riding Hood Red, Baja Breeze, Versamark
• Accessories:  Riding Hood Red Striped Ribbon, Clear Embossing Powder
• Tools:  Scallop Edge Punch, Rubber Brayer, Heat Tool, Large Oval Punch, Embossing Buddy

Instructions

To do the emboss resist technqiue you start out with a glossy sheet of cardstock cut to whatever size you need for your design.  I took the embossing buddy and put a layer of the anti-static dust on the cardstock.  I then took the large snowflake from the Snow Swirled stamp set, inked it in Versamark and then stamped my image randomly on the glossy cardstock - reinking the stamp each time.  HINT:  the glossy cardstock is slick so be careful not to slide the stamp.  Then I immediate sprinkled clear embossing powder on the cardstock over the powder pals tray.  The anti-static powder you used earlier will keep the embossing powder from sticking where it shouldn't.  Once you've tapped of the excess powder - heat the snowflakes with your heat tool.  Let cool.  Next, ink up your rubber brayer with Baja Breeze ink and roll quickly and in long even strokes from one side of the cardstock to the other.  Re-ink the brayer and do it again and again if you like to achieve the even tone and desired color that you like.  Finally - take a napkin and wipe it over the snowflakes and watch the image pop out - the snowflakes that you embossed will "resist" the brayered ink thus the techniques name "Embossing Resist."  Try it-send me your sample to display!

This card is using the Scallop Circle Bigz Die and the Big Shot Machine.  You cannot see it because I didn't angle the card when I took the photo - but the card does open.

 

Supplies

• Stamp Sets:  Punches Three (Level One Hostess Set)
• Cardstock:  Ruby Red, Chocolate Chip, Old Olive, Whisper White
• Ink Pads:  Ruby Red
• Accessories:  Holiday Treasures DSP, Olive 5/8" Grosgrain Ribbon
• Tools:  BIG Shot, Scallop Bigz Die, Square Scallop Punch, Paper Piercer/Template, 1/8" Handheld Punch

Instructions

I was able to create the card by folding my Ruby Red cardstock, adhering the Old Olive and Holiday Treasures DSP - then I placed the fold of the card on the scallop die just below the cut line and ran it thru the Big Shot machine.  The scallop cut everywhere else except the fold and created the shaped card.  To adhere the ribbon - I used an 1/8" handheld punch and punched two holes on the fold to tie my ribbon thru.

New Website Design!

Hello there!  I hope everyone is staying warm and doing well.

I just wanted to introduce you to my new website design.  For several reasons - I decided to change my website banner.  I had created the other one myself (I'm such the novice) but realized its limitations from a "design" perspective and functional standpoint - SO VOILA...a new banner and a different look!  Thank you to Veronica for designing the banner and installing it for me!  I can change the polka dot background from chocolate, to blue, to tan - and all of the colors coordinate with the banner colors.  So periodically - you might see a change! :)

Chocolate Pecan Delight!

It is time for another recipe!!  This is a favorite and is so easy to make.  It doesn't last very long when I make it and I usually can't make it to take somewhere without having to make one that stays home!  Try it and let me know what you think!

INGREDIENTS

• 1 cup all-purpose flour
• 1/2 cup butter
• 1 cup finely chopped pecans
• 1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese
• 1 cup confectioners' sugar
• 3 cups frozen whipped topping, thawed
• 1 (3.9 ounce) package instant chocolate pudding mix
• 1 (3.4 ounce) package instant vanilla pudding mix
• 1-1/2 cups milk
• 1-1/2 cups half & half
• 2 tablespoons chopped pecans
• Semi-sweet baking chocolate or chips

DIRECTIONS

1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
2. In a medium bowl, cut the butter into the flour with a pastry blender or two knives, until mixture resembles coarse meal. Stir in pecans, press into bottom of a 9x13-inch baking dish and bake 15 minutes, or until golden. Cool completely. 
3. In a medium bowl, combine cream cheese, confectioners' sugar and 1 cup whipped topping with electric mixer until smooth.  Layer this mixture on top of cooled crust.
4. In another bowl, whisk together chocolate pudding mix, vanilla pudding mix, milk, and half & half until there are no lumps.  Pour onto cream cheese layer before pudding sets up.
5. Spread remaining 2 cups of whipped topping on top of pudding mixture.
6. Sprinkle 2 tablespoons of chopped nuts over all.  Sprinkle chocolate chips or shave bits of semi-sweet baking chocolate onto whipped topping mixture as well.
7. Chill in refrigerator until serving.

HINTS – I usually double the recipe for the crust and make it thicker!  If you double the crust – lengthen the crust cooking time as well!
