Today I thought I'd share a set of 12x12 scrapbook pages that I created for my scrapbooking clubs this month. I love fall and wanted a page using the leaves Bigz die from Sizzix. The ladies in club got a chance to play with the Big Shot and I taught them how to make the leaves look really realistic. Take a look at the detail close up. Don't you just love the colors of fall?! Now I just need to add my photos!
Here is how to create the leaves: Take your cardstock and run it thru the paper crimper vertically, then turn it and send it thru the crimper horizontally, then run it thru a third time diagonally. By this time your cardstock will look like a waffle and be very pliable. Then take your cardstock and using the Big Shot - die cut your leaves. Next, take a sponge and chocolate chip ink and distress/sponge each leaf. Then take a bone folder and draw veins on your leaves. You can see the veins in the detail photo. Finally, crumble the leaf into a small ball - open it up - crumble into a ball again and open. Your leaf will look like a crusty worn out leaf. This makes the leaves look really realistic!
The Top Note die was also used to create additional photo areas or journaling spots on the page.
This same layout can be used for all different occasions. I hope you enjoy the design!
