Here is the long awaited recipe for "Cracker Candy!" Ok - it's really not called that, it's just a name my husband Scott made up because he loves it!
My friend and fellow demonstrator Glenda has this wonderful candy that she makes that she calls "Chocolate Peanut Butter Bark". The main ingredient is saltine crackers - see where Scott came up with his name? I love baking and Scott loves to cook so I thought it would be fun to share some of our favorite recipes right here for you! So periodically I'll post a recipe that you just won't be able to resist trying.
Thank you to Glenda for sharing her recipe with us. Scott loves you!!!!
Cracker Candy (aka Chocolate Peanut Butter Bark)
Ingredients
- Saltine Crackers
- 2-Sticks Margarine
- 1 Cup Sugar
- 1-12oz Bag Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips
- 1-12oz Bag Peanut Butter Chips
Directions
Line a cookie sheet with sides (approx. size 12-1/2" x 17-1/2") with parchment paper. Place saltine crackers side by side and cover the entire cookie sheet. Melt the butter and the sugar in a sauce pan. Pour over the crackers and bake for 7 minutes in a 400 degree preheated oven.
Remove cookie sheet from the oven and sprinkle semi-sweet chocolate chips and peanut butter chips over the crackers. Place back in the oven for 1 more minute and then spread the melted chips over the entire top of the crackers with a spatula.
Put the cookie sheet in the refrigerator for several hours until well chilled. Break apart the bark and keep refrigerated until ready to serve.
It can be served at room temperature or chilled.
MMMM good! Enjoy!
